How is QT different from a generic workflow engine?
QT is a Business Process Management platform, not just a workflow router. It designs, launches, executes and measures a process end‑to‑end — and it can directly invoke real business objects (production orders, requisitions, purchase orders, journals, etc.) so the process actually moves your business, rather than passing an email between inboxes.
Can QT run without the business object library?
Yes. You can run QT purely as a process management platform against your own systems. The business object library is a huge accelerator, but it is optional — QT can call external systems and capture user input via forms even where no business object is registered.
